Greetings JHS Family!

This is a little about me! I am from Currie, NC where I graduated from Pender High School, Burgaw, NC. #GoPatriots!

I began my teaching career in 2004 with New Hanover County Schools as a Career & Technical Education teacher at Eugene Ashley High School. I served Ashley High School in a CTE teaching capacity for 9 years and 1 year as an Administrative Intern and Dean of Students. After I completed my internship at Ashley High School, I transferred to D C Virgo Preparatory Academy, Wilmington, NC where I served as Dean of Students. I later joined Onslow County Schools as an Assistant Principal at Northside High School, Southwest High School, and Jacksonville Commons Middle School. Additionally, I served as Principal in Brunswick County.

Prior to my career in education, I worked at the New Hanover County Superior Court Judges Office, Property Management, and served in the US Navy as a Religious Program Specialist. In addition to my public education career, I taught psychology, business, and leadership courses in online and in-person college settings.

I am blessed to have an awesome husband, Rev. Dante' Murphy, who is the Pastor of Manhollow Missionary Baptist Church, Hampstead, NC. Between the two of us, we have 3 children, 1 daughter-in-law and 2 grandchildren. We live in the beautiful city of Wilmington.

Outside of school-related duties, I enjoy spending time with my family, listening to good music, and watching old television shows! I love music of all genres, such as 80's Pop, 80's R&B, Latin and Traditional Jazz, Big Band Swing, Blues, Ragtime, and Contemporary Christian. I am a Philadelphia Eagles fan!

I am looking forward to further serving the students, families, and the Jacksonville High School Community!
